Doug McDade
DOUG MCDADE (Actor/Director) currently serves as the Interim Managing Director of the Shattered Globe Theatre Company. He became a member of the ensemble in 1992 for the production of TALK RADIO and has performed in numerous SGT productions, as well as assisting with sound design, direction and set construction. Doug is currently understudying Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning playwright/actor Tracy Letts in Steppenwolf Theatre’s production of WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF openng December 13. His most recent performances for SGT: The critically acclaimed THE PRICE, DEALER’S CHOICE and THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES. He shares several JEFF (Equity and Non-Equity Wing) and After Dark awards for Ensemble in SGT, American Blues Theatre and Next Theatre productions. Doug has received one Joseph Jefferson Award (non-Equity Wing) for his work in SGT’S THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE , as well as two JEFF nominations for his work as Eddie Carbone in SGT’S A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and as FDR in SGT’S original play, WARHAWK’S AND LINDBERGHS. Doug most recently appeared with Michael Keaton in Keaton’s directorial film debut, the critically acclaimed THE MERRY GENTLEMAN. His directing credits include stage works for Shattered Globe Theatre, Northside Story Productions, the touring company of Koch-Cohen Productions, Kalibre Productions,The Gurnee Theatre Company and Clockwise Theatre Company in Waukegan. He has also directed projects for video and television and is slated to direct an independent film in the fall of 2011. His most recent directorial work, the short film, THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE received widespread attention at numerous film festivals in the U.S., Canada and Albania. He is currently in post-production for a film he directed with composer, Jeton Murtishi, CUTEeGRL which is slated for release in January, 2011. He also serves on the boards of Coincidence Films, WinsomeMuse Entertainment and is a member of the Artistic Advisory Board of Waukegan’s Clockwise Theatre Company. Doug is one of the premier film acting / theatre coaches in Chicago and serves on the staff of Acting Studio Chicago and the Actors Training Center in Wilmette. In 2006 Doug received a Volunteer of The Year Award for his work with the developmentally disabled for an acting program he developed for Northpointe Resources in Zion, IL. He resides in Gurnee with his two daughters.
