His credits include the Chicago casting for dozens of feature films and work with directors like Michael Mann, Marc Forester, Harold Ramis, Gore Verbinski, Bob Odenkirk, Dylan Kidd, Peyton Reed, LeVar Burton, and Michael Keaton. Commercially, Matt has worked on campaigns for hundreds of companies where he has been known to say things like “I need you to smile when you take a bite of that chicken strip as if it is both a delicious treat and an exceptional discount” in total earnesty.

As a teacher, Matt is part of the faculty at The Acting Studio Chicago (www.actingstudiochicago.com) where he teaches a variety of on-camera acting classes.  He is also an adjunct instructor with The Theatre School at DePaul University where he also teaches on-camera acting and the MFA professional preparation seminar.
He is a frequent workshop leader at colleges and universities throughout the Midwest.

After receiving his BA in English & Secondary Education from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, Matt spent a few years as an actor before moving to Chicago in 1999 to intern in the Goodman Theatre’s casting office—an experience that quickly re-focused his energy on directing and casting.
