VO FROM HOME: MASTER RECORDING & EDITING
Looking to take the next step in your voice over career? Ready to learn how to produce your own professional-sounding voiceover work, auditions, and projects? Our new VO class is for you.
This class is designed for experienced voiceover students who want to improve their technical and engineering skills so they can take their home recordings to the next level.
During this 5 week course, voiceover experts Brian Plocharczyk and Sound Engineer Dave Kresl will teach you to master the art of recording, editing, and engineering the perfect at-home recording.
Classes 1 and 2 will focus on advanced script analysis, how to conquer copy with little to no direction, establishing an acoustically friendly performance space and introduction to audio terminology and mic technique.
Class 3 will focus on basic recording and editing softwares such as: Audacity, Garage Band and Twisted Wave.
Class 4 Gain insights into editing techinques in more advanced software: Protools and Audition.
A breakdown of the various versions of Source Connect and how to get started using them will also be included.
Class 5 will feature private feedback and a “mock” remote recording session with audio engineering expert Dave Kresl. Dave will also provide a professionally produced sample of your recording work.
REQUIRED: Students must have previous VO training & experience and:
- internet access,
- a working camera, and
- quality usb microphone or analogue microphone
- recording softwre such as, but not limited to: Audacity, GarageBand, Twisted Wave
