Adult Advanced Classes

MASTERS SCENE STUDY WITH MIKEAL BURKE

In this advanced scene study course for experienced actors, you will explore two different scenes in depth over five weeks. Material will be chosen from new and newer plays that present textual and emotional challenges for the actor. Deepen your script analysis and rehearsal skills with talented peers and compelling scenes. Mikael will assign scenes on a prescriptive basis to challenge you and your classmates to take greater risks and explore acting choices (safely) outside your comfort zone. Mikael Burke won a 2025 Equity Jeff Award for his direction of A Tale of Two Cities at Shattered Globe Theatre.

Please note, this advanced class requires significant outside work: students are required to rehearse outside of class a minimum of twice a week per scene.

If you anticipate any absences, please talk to the office before registering.

Required: Strong theatre background and training, determined by headshot. resume and self-tape.

Tuition: $350
