MASTERS FILM/TV WORKSHOP - CLAIRE SIMON, C.S.A.

Taught by Casting Director Claire Simon this Master Class Workshop is designed for working actors with significant training and on-camera experience. 

Before the workshop begins you will be assigned a “self-tape” audition. The material will be the hardest roles….the small ones, or day players.  The hard ones, because they are brief and important.  Roles with brief action, injury, illness, or intensity can lead to doing too much or not enough.  These roles are also especially challenging because you don’t get much material or direction.  Learn how to navigate and interpret these scenes with truth and simplicity  You will submit two days before the first day. (July 11th.) 

Day 1 will begin with an overview of what makes a successful self-taped audition. Claire will then review the self-tapes, give adjustments, and lead a discussion about navigating the industry during a time of complete unknowns.

After a break...using the same scene, the students will work the scenes incorporating the adjustments and work with a reader. 

Day 2  consists of working on a second larger assigned scene. Focus on using yourself simply and authentically.

The second day wraps with a Q&A / business talk. 

Admission will be determined by H/R. This is a masters-level audition workshop, for experienced, professional actors with representation, who are actively auditioning for film/TV projects.
