LEVEL 3 SCENE STUDY
Now you’re ready to dive into the world of the play! During the first six weeks of class, you will work on two scenes with a partner. By reading the entire script, memorizing, rehearsing, and working with props and costumes, you will deepen your understanding of specificity and personalization--essentials for any actor. Material will be from contemporary American playwrights, typically including such authors as John Patrick Shanley, David Mamet and Rebecca Gilman.
Required: Levels 1 and 2 or equivalent training or a placement audition.
"I love pursuing acting and I love how much I’ve learned while continuing my education through Acting Studio Chicago. What’s more is having teachers that truly support you and listen and care about how you feel and letting you roll with what works best for your scene no matter what. Thank you Adrianne Cury (Instructor, Level 3 ) for being such an amazing example of what a student/teacher relationship looks like. Accepting what we have to say and working outside of the box to make that happen. I feel so blessed to have you take me into the next level of this journey❤️ You Rock."

"I love Gretchen (Gretchen Sonstroem, Instructor- Level 3)! Her feedback is on-point, insightful, and revealing. She asks the right questions to bring out the best in our performances. I love how she emphasizes using emotional intelligence to explore our characters. I've only had positive experiences here and I can say I've become a better actor for it."

"I loved Gretchen Sonstroem's (Level 3) class very much. It greatly surpassed my expectations. She was specific and knew exactly which areas I needed to work on. I felt very safe; Gretchen often encouraged risk-taking. Her personality and feedback really pushed me to always bring my best work to class. I always recommend taking a class at Acting Studio Chicago."

"Adrienne Cury (Level 3) is smart and gracious. She is the ASC queen. She not only earned my respect, but she made me genuinely want to do my best work. I feel safe to explore and be ridiculous at ASC. With the environment that is created, I know I can make bold choices and improvise without judgment."
