LEVEL 3: SCENE STUDY
You've built a foundation of skills - now you’re ready to dive into the world of the play! During the first six weeks of class, you will work on two scenes from exciting contemporary plays. By reading the entire script, memorizing, rehearsing, and working with props and costumes, you will deepen your understanding of specificity and personalization--essentials for any actor.
Required: ASC Core Levels 1 and 2, equivalent training (as determined by the ASC office), or a placement audition. Level 2 must have been taken within the past 12 months.
Please note: Throughout the Level 3 course, students are expected to rehearse in-person outside of class with their scene partner at least once a week.

Sarafina Vecchio was amazing in this course (Level 3)! She managed her time so well, and would set a timer for every scene to ensure we all had an equal amount of time. I think Adrianne's(Cury-Level III Online) critiques were always specific and helped make the scene better. Even if I didn't understand the first few times what a critique meant, I was able to keep trying different things and I was reminded of the critique so that when it was successful, it was satisfying. I also really REALLY appreciated receiving written feedback on our scene breakdowns. I feel like it's a really great opportunity to see how your personal interpretation and understanding of a scene/character and the guideposts compares to the instructor's. I felt like that really helped my understanding of how the technique is applied which then informed how I did future scene breakdowns. I also felt like Adrianne really enjoyed teaching.
